Pianist Wnukowski revives music of a neglected composer in impressive Carnegie debut



Presented by the OREL Foundation in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute NY, exil.arte and the Polish Music Center at USC’s Thornton School of Music. 

Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski makes his Carnegie Hall debut showcasing the work of Karol Rathaus, a Polish exiled composer who settled in New York soon after his works were banned by the Nazis. Rathaus’s third piano sonata joins the works of two other émigré composers—Handel and Chopin. Wnukowski recently released a recording of solo piano works by Karol Rathaus on the Toccata Classics label.
