Ran Jia’s Berlin debut with all Schubert sonatas in the prestigious chamber hall of the Berlin Philharmonie on four evenings in march 2017 raised high critical acclaim, praising her “high sound culture” (Berliner morgenpost). The tagesspiegel called her “the challenger” in comparison to the Schubert series of local hero Daniel Barenboim, which was taking place a little later in the city.
